Demineralization is the process of losing minerals (mainly calcium) from any of the hard tissues: enamel, dentin, and cement. It starts at the surface and can progress either to cavitation (tooth decay) or to erosion (tooth wear). - Fluoridated toothpaste is chosen differently depending on 3 age categories: 0-2 years, 2-6 years, 6-12 years.
